Solar power push cart

Studio 360 had a segment on an artist/designer who built a solar powered pushcart. Mouna Andraos had no engineering experience, and used the internet to figure out how to put everything together.

Mouna Andraos has been fascinated by street vendors since her childhood in Lebanon. She’s an artist and designer with no engineering background, but she has created a working portable street generator that uses a crank and a solar cell to charge cell phones and laptops.

She showed her push cart to this Cooper Union engineering professor and he was pretty surprised hearing there was no prior engineering experience behind it.  Kind of inspiring, imagining ways people can get closer to understanding how energy is generated and used through projects like this.

I’m not sure on the details, and can’t find much more googling it. Here’s a rough sketch of it I found http://www.missmoun.com/proposals/conflux/ . It would be cool if the specs were posted online
