many speakers in nature

Make lots of tiny speakers and put them all around part of a forest for a piece combining natural forest sounds with synthesized sounds.

The converse would be also cool: make lots of tiny microphones and put them all around part of a forest. Or city, if you can get around the privacy issue, say by having people voluntarily put them in their surroundings. Stream the resulting sound live on the web (just the aggregate, or with some mixing and effects optional).

Oh oh, here’s an extension: same for forest and city, then post both streams on the same website, for contrast.

Another one: mikes in a forest and speakers in a city (say at bus stops)

I love the microphones idea. You could literally hear the conversation of the city- thats wonderful.

The forest mikes to the city speakers! wild! what a way to connect the two. People would be much more aware of the wildlife around the city too. awesome ideas!

Why not reciprocal feeds in the city and the forest? Then people could have a conversation! Or call birds from a bus stop!

Oooo so like linking up conversations between a city and surrounding forests. hmmm i wonder what may happen with that anonymity, what people may say in the forest or park vs in the city, how environment may be an influence. calling birds would be fun / silly, haha
