Just came across the album ‘Instrumentally Insane Vol 1′ by Surj33t, and I’m completely blown away.  It is beautiful.  The smoothness of the samples, the range and quality of them, and the progressions in each of the tracks.  In the vein of DJ Shadow and Four Tet, the music is pretty chill, but its not completely predictable- there are movements you will not expect, and they feel perfect.  This is definitely something I will mix in at the end of parties or during dinners over the coming spring.

The musician is an old friend, mixing these beats in Rockville.  Its exciting to see great music coming out of my home town.  Check out the preview on Youtube  and download the album for free here.
