On Thursday, Ben, Adam, and I were interviewed by Kevin McCarthy of BostInnovation. He was curious of our Maker Entrepeneurs talk at BarCamp Boston 6, so we had a conversation about maker spaces, open hardware, and entrepreneurship.
What I personally found most interesting about the maker community here in Boston is the diversity of attending individuals. Hasler, Virdee and Sugar explained that electrical engineers, web developers, carpenters, artists, marketers and entrepreneurs (just to name a few) are all encouraged to attend. This variety of perspective and skill set ultimately makes projects more well-rounded.
After two hours of conversation with Hasler, Virdee and Sugar on topics ranging from art design, government as a platform, network theory and Lindsay Logan, it became clear that they are extremely passionate about not only creating but enabling others to do so as well.
